In case of non-compliance, the money will not be refunded and exam, if passed in the meantime, will not be valid and recognised and as such will not be in our Directory of Certified Professionals.

Examination

All examinations are online, computer-home based and time-limited.

  • Exam time: 60 minutes.
  • Exam length: 60 scored questions
  • Language: English

Exemption

Students from partnering institutions/accredited centres who passed a program recognised by EPCA do not need to take the exam.

Exam Date and Time

Testing is available online 24/7. Applicants must not take the exam before sanding the audit documentation and receiving Compliance Report from the Audit Committee. As a proof, you should receive two emails: a confirmation email stating that you submitted requested documentation and, within two weeks, the Audit Committee email Compliance Report saying that you are (not) eligible to take the exam.

Duration

You have to take the exam within 90 days after registering. You cannot extend the expiration date. In case you fail, you have the right to one more attempt within the same 90 days. If you fail again, you have to go through the whole procedure again.

Certification Exam Preparation

Recommended literature is given for each certification level exam. Please, check the desired program and level of certification. We encourage you to use a variety of study methods while preparing for the exam. It is evident that candidates who use multiple preparation resources tend to be more successful.

Exam Format

EPCA exams contain different item types such as:

  • three-option multiple-choice items
  • statements that require True/False answer,
  • questions that require Yes/No answer, and
  • scenarios, which require you to use your experience to select the right answer.

Each question is scored one point.

Passing Exam

To pass the exam, you must have at least 60% correct answers. If you fail, you can take the exam once more. Although the system allows you to do it immediately after the first attempt, we recommend taking some time to revise before re-taking the exam.

Exam Results and Certificate

Your exam answers are evaluated real-time, and you will receive your certification and results as soon as you submit the answers. The certificate is immediately available in e-form.

You can purchase a paper certificate, and delivery with tracking is 80€ in Europe and 120€ outside Europe.

Directory of Certified Professionals

All certified professionals are listed in our Directory. Go to the Directory of Certified Professionals link and enter Certificate number to get information about the certificate holder.

Professional Level Experience

A professional level experience refers to your level of work experience in the field that is subject of certification, i.e. your work experience and responsibilities connected to the desired professional certification level and type. For example, if your work experience is connected to Marketing activities, you can apply, depending on your education level and the number of years of experience, for a certain level of Marketing Management Certification.

Please, note that for the Associate Professional level you do not need any work experience.

Certification/Re-certification Fee and Refunding

Please, check the list here. Once enrolled no refunds will be made whether a candidate is ineligible or withdraws or no longer wishes to take the exam.

Re-certification

Re-certification benefits you as a professional. Your certification is valid for one year. To get re-certified you have to demonstrate your commitment to continuous learning and development. Life Long Learning (LLL) is crucial for every individual to remain competitive. For re-certification, you have to attend at least one seminar OR conference OR webinar OR online course OR any other type of formal or informal professional development program/training, regardless the duration (can be a one-day program OR a one-week training OR term OR semester etc.). It is up to you what program to choose and your personal choice. There are cheap or even free learning options available online that you can take advantage of. You are welcome, but you are not obliged to attend events organised by EPCA or our networking partners.

When and How to Re-certify

Re-certification process can be started at any time. After the Audit committee reviews your documents and if you meet all requirements, you will receive within 15 working days an email with a new certificate. To re-certify you do not need to take the exam again. You have to fill out the online re-certification form, upload proof of LLL activity that you had (one is enough) and pay re-certification fee.
